I joined Barker PR two years ago following my degree in Marketing and Media Communications, and, over that time, I have attended many different dental events.

These included the Dentistry Shows in Manchester, Birmingham and London, along with the BDIA, BDA conferences and EMS GBT Summits in both London and Manchester.

They are brilliant for connecting with existing clients, meeting up with editors to discuss ongoing and upcoming plans, and networking and connecting further with the dental industry.

Both my colleague, Seb, and I were really intrigued to see what the AEEDC in Dubai would offer that differs from the events based in the UK in terms of the exhibitors, attendees and our current clients that are managed by additional agencies in UAE.

On first arriving at the AEEDC, it was extremely clear that this was one of the largest dental events globally. Each hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre was filled with so many pioneering companies split into their country of origin. The AEEDC was similar to all other dental shows at its core, as this was where everyone had gathered together to connect.

There were so many wonderfully creative and innovative companies that both Seb and I wanted to connect with.

When speaking with company representatives, we wanted to introduce our name but also see if there was an opportunity to introduce their product or service to the UK market. We had the opportunity to discuss this at the show, and Seb and I have continued to nurture these relationships after leaving Dubai, to see how we could potentially support the launch of their messaging in the UK.

Dubai itself is such a beautiful city and we would love to visit there again. Seb and I feel this exhibition was particularly beneficial for growing our skillset and to familiarise a new market with the Barker PR name.

We hope to visit the AEEDC again with some new friendly faces and clients, to catch up with acquaintances, as well as making new ones.
